April showers bring May flowers but the fourth month of the year has also gifted us with Microgaming‘s fresh lineup of online games which explores everything from pirate adventure and Egyptian mythology to Arthurian legend and gothic horror while offering jackpots, blazing wheels, Firepots, respins, expanding reels, free spins, Super Spins, and many more exciting features.

The leading content aggregator begins its run-down of the month’s new titles with 8 Golden Skulls of Holly Roger Megaways, the debut release from Buck Stakes Entertainment, the latest addition to the Isle of Man-based gambling software company’s fast-growing network of independent partner studios. The 6-reel Megaways powered video slot is loaded with features, including free spins, multipliers, a Firepot jackpot, and more. Players who join the all-female pirate crew can win up to 1,900 times their stake in this high seas adventure set to launch on April 22.

WowPot wonder:

Neon Valley Studios is next up with its 5-reel, 3-row Queen of Alexandria WowPot slot, based, of course, on the Egyptian queen, Cleopatra. The medium volatility game whisks players away to the ancient world and the famous queen’s court where they’ll find the WowPot progressive jackpot, which features four separate progressive tiers. The top prize seeding within the group is €2 million, and according to the press release, was “nearing €15 million at the time of writing.”In addition to the WowPot game, the game, which is available as a standalone game with fixed-limit jackpots, also includes an expanding wilds respin feature. Check it out from April 13.

Egypt and beyond:

Launched on April 6, All41 Studios‘ mining-themed, Gold Collector, showcases the Estonia-based casino game developer’s HyperHold feature, where players have a chance to win one of a handful of jackpots. Next up in the queue is 9 Blazing Diamonds from Las Vegas-headquartered SpinPlay Games. Players will be able to tackle this classic slot, which features The Blazing Wheel, where players can win either extra spins or instant cash prizes, both of which come packed with a 4x max multiplier. Snowborn Games takes players back to Egypt in its April 29 release, Egyptian Tombs, featuring the Tomb Bonus feature, Super Spins, extra spins, and the Wheel of Fortune. On April 20th, Just For The Win takes us to Camelot for Book of King Arthur, where players join the legendary British leader on an exploration of the riches of Avalon.

Monster bash:

Vienna-based digital entertainment production house, Rabcat, is next on deck with its vampire-inspired gothic video slot, Anna Van Helsing Monster Huntress. Available from April 15, the spooky, vampire hunting adventure packs some great features that sport names like Wolf Attack, Wolf Howl, and Dracula’s Banishment. Between the title and those feature names, this is one April slot you don’t want to sleep on!

Other new releases include:

  • Fu88, a Chinese-themed slot from Argentinian design studio Neko Games, which is available from April 26.
  • Hold’Em Poker 2 is Microgaming’s newest poker offering. The mobile-ready multiplayer game with a random prize-pool generator can be experienced starting April 12.
  • Inferno Gladiator from newcomer, Gong Gaming Technologies, launches April 12 and offers players sticky wilds, extra spins, and a boat-load of multipliers.

Third-party content:

April’s great third-party content includes Slots O’Luck from Inspired Entertainment. The Irish-themed slot that includes the Gamble feature, allowing players to take a chance to increase their winnings or to win extra spins, launched on April 6. Iron Dog Studio’s feature-packed Robbin’ Robin made its debut on April 7, while classic slot action by way of 1x2gaming‘s Tripple Bar 98 and Triple Bar 96 are also hot April picks, and Big Time Gaming‘s (BTG), Survivor Megaways, which leverages the same-named international TV franchise, will be available from April 19.

Microgaming’s last grouping consists of Phoenix Inferno from 1x2gaming, Fishing Cashpots from Inspired Entertainment, and rounding off a jam-packed month is BTG’s Wild Flower, available April 21, 26, and 28 respectively.

Stronghold Crusader 2 Review

Ah, the humble real-time strategy soldier. Alone, he or she is nothing but a tiny dot on a vast map. But a mass of soldiers forms a blob of incisive power that can cut a swath of blood and destruction across the countryside in whatever direction you see fit. Stronghold Crusader 2 embraces this blob warfare, offering a plethora of different units you can choose from to form your attacking force while your personal castle–the Stronghold series’ signature element–hopefully stays safe from harm. Stronghold Crusader 2 puts you in the shoes of either King Richard’s or Saladin’s forces during the Crusades, as you square off against the other in self-contained battles raging across the desert landscape. The goal is the simplest one in strategy game history: def…

BetMGM fined $25,000 for prohibited basketball bets in New Jersey

In New Jersey, sports betting on college teams is prohibited to a certain degree. Sports fans are not allowed to bet on New Jersey college teams, or any college game played in the state, even if the teams are not based in the region. This is a bummer for sports fans, but part of the state regulations. It seems as though last year, BetMGM took bets on basketball games in the state when they were supposed to. Wagers worth less than $100 are now costing the brand $25,000 in fines.

College Basketball Betting Allowed

Documents from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) state that BetMGM accepted two wagers on a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament game last March. The game was taking place in Atlantic City and involved Niagara University and Marist College.

For the wagers, BetMGM was fined. The brand said the issue stemmed from Entain PLC, its tech partner. Supposedly, Entain was at fault for the errors that allowed the bets to be placed. A…
