Warzone 2’s coolest gun ever is a low-framerate recreation of a super classic we all know and love-

There’s been an awful lot of sometimes-cool, sometimes-odd crossovers in Call of Duty: Warzone 2—corrupt superheroes, Nicki Minaj, a bulletproof dog named Merlin who rides around on your belt—but this is my favorite: The super-shotgun from Doom 2, which will be added to the game as part of the Doom bundle that’s coming in October.

The super shotgun—technically the combat shotgun, but only old, pedantic nerds (like me) insist on calling it that—debuted in Doom 2, and it’s been a staple of the series, and virtually every other shotgun-toting FPS, ever since. They have an alarmingly slow rate of fire, but they make up for that shortcoming by hitting like a truck.

From the Doom 2 manual:

Combat shotguns are double-barrelled, sawed-off killing sticks. These gats are the ultimate in pellet warfare. Beware, two barrels not only deliver more firepower, but takes more time to reload.

Of course, you don’t have to worry about reloading if you only have to pull the trigger once, am I right?

What makes the Warzone 2 rendition of the super shotgun so impressive is the way it so perfectly recreates the original. It looks the part, it sounds the part, it’s got the same muzzle blast animation, and best of all it has the same low-framerate reload animation. Charlie Intel posted a brief clip of the weapon in action on Twitter: That mid-’90s chop is completely incongruous with the silky-smooth movement of the rest of the game, and yet, it’s perfect. It is the super shotgun.

For comparison, here’s the original super shotgun showing off what it can do in Doom 2, courtesy of The PsiRocker on YouTube:

There are no details at this point as to how the weapon will actually perform in the game, but speaking as a casual player who’s more interested in having fun than whatever the meta is at any given moment, I don’t care—I think this thing looks like (forgive the pun) a blast.

The bundle will also include the Doomgun gunscreen, Doom weapon charm, Cacodemon and Slayer stickers, a handful of new emblems, and—of course—a very familiar chainsaw: We don’t have an animation for that bad boy yet, but this is what it looks like:

The Doom bundle will be available for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 on October 9.

Stronghold Crusader 2 Review

Ah, the humble real-time strategy soldier. Alone, he or she is nothing but a tiny dot on a vast map. But a mass of soldiers forms a blob of incisive power that can cut a swath of blood and destruction across the countryside in whatever direction you see fit. Stronghold Crusader 2 embraces this blob warfare, offering a plethora of different units you can choose from to form your attacking force while your personal castle–the Stronghold series’ signature element–hopefully stays safe from harm. But though its parts come together to form a solid strategy game, the uninteresting options at your disposal never raise the game above being one where opposing blobs crash into each other until one splatters.

Stronghold Crusader 2 puts you in the shoes of either King Richard’s or Saladin’s forces during the Crusades, as you square off against the other in self-contained battles raging across the desert landscape. The goal is the simplest one in strategy game history: def…

Nintendo Switch Successor Will Be Revealed By April 2025

Nintendo has announced that the successor for the Switch will be revealed within this fiscal year, which ends in April 2025.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa took to the Nintendo’s Japanese Twitter account, saying, “We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015.”

As part of an earnings call, Furukawa was asked about the nature of the new system. According to MST Financial analyst David Gibson, he responded, “Switch next model is the appropriate way to describe it,” indicating the new system won’t be a massive departure from the original Switch. Previous Nintendo consoles–going from GameCube to Wii to Wii U to Switch–saw radical changes to the basic concept of the hardware. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

BetMGM fined $25,000 for prohibited basketball bets in New Jersey

In New Jersey, sports betting on college teams is prohibited to a certain degree. Sports fans are not allowed to bet on New Jersey college teams, or any college game played in the state, even if the teams are not based in the region. This is a bummer for sports fans, but part of the state regulations. It seems as though last year, BetMGM took bets on basketball games in the state when they were supposed to. Wagers worth less than $100 are now costing the brand $25,000 in fines.

College Basketball Betting Allowed

Documents from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) state that BetMGM accepted two wagers on a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament game last March. The game was taking place in Atlantic City and involved Niagara University and Marist College.

For the wagers, BetMGM was fined. The brand said the issue stemmed from Entain PLC, its tech partner. Supposedly, Entain was at fault for the errors that allowed the bets to be placed. A…
